“We are thrilled to be moving forward with Alphonso Davies,” said Max Eberl, a board member for sport. Since he was 18, Phonzy has played for Bayern, and he immediately accepted the team.
He is one of the members of our team’s younger generation who we believe is assuming more responsibilities. He was raised here and will keep developing with the group.
In his role at Bayern, Alphonso Davies has emerged as one of the world’s top players and has drawn a lot of interest, Christoph Freund continued.
Davies chimed in with his own thoughts: “I am very happy to have extended my contract at this great club.
“Alphonso Davies has drawn a lot of interest and has emerged as one of the world’s top players in his role at Bayern,” Christoph Freund continued.
Now I’m looking forward to another five years together. I’ve already achieved a lot here, but there’s more to come.”

This is Bayern Munich’s second contract extension announcement in two days after Manuel Neuer extended his contract until 2026.
While contract negotiations with the 7 players whose contracts expired in 2025 had dragged on, it always seemed as if everyone was waiting for the first domino to fall.
Now, all of a sudden, two have fallen. Could we see this streak continue? Let’s fill the entire week with contract extensions. That should be fun.
For weeks now, it has been heavily rumored that Alphonso Davies has agreed to a contract extension with Bayern Munich.
The Canadian’s previous terms, which would have run only for a few more months until June of 2025, were set to be renewed.
And then…there was radio silence for two weeks. For a matter as sensitive and crucial as the contract extension of the Bavarians’ extremely important left back, such an absence of news was concerning.
Davies is currently recovering from a long-term injury that will likely see the former Vancouver Whitecaps player miss the month of February.
He should return from the injury in March, but it would be a boost to everyone at the club to know he could return for over four more years rather than just the last few months of the season.
