Dreams FC loses 2:1 to Asante Kotoko at Tuba AstroTurf.
In a Ghana Premier League Matchweek 14 match at the Tuba Astroturf in Krokrobite, Accra, Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Dreams FC 2-1 in a hard-fought victory to prolong their winning streak.
Late in the first half, the Porcupine Warriors won two goals in a short period to take the lead. Yahaya Baba took advantage of a superb cutback to slide the ball home from close range in the 40th minute to open the scoring.
Kotoko had a well-earned lead going into halftime when Saaka Dauda extended the lead three minutes later. He did this by promptly putting a rebound into the net.
“My players were tired because of the Hearts of Oak game in Kumasi, but in the end, we managed to win the match. That is very good, and we will continue to work from there,” Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum revealed.
After the interval, Dreams FC came out stronger and more determined to re-enter the contest. Their efforts paid off in the 58th minute, as Joseph Esso’s calm finish cut the deficit in half and set the tone for a fierce second half.
“In the first half of the game, my players gave Asante Kotoko too much respect on the pitch. Most of the players haven’t played against Kumasi Asante Kotoko before, so they were a little bit afraid. The change of venue from Dewu to the Tuba AstroTurf has nothing to do with the team’s performance, in my opinion,” Coach Karim Zito disclosed.

The Porcupine Warriors’ hopes of winning the league are still alive because they are only three points behind the leaders. However, Dreams FC is in the relegation zone and will have to get back together fast to prevent more campaign setbacks.
