Eric Dier To AS Monaco Confirmed
Eric Dier’s transfer to AS Monaco has been finalized and is now official. After a season and a half with Bayern Munich, the English defender has signed a contract with the Ligue 1 club that extends through the summer of 2027.
This move follows Dier’s decision not to renew his contract with Bayern, which is set to expire on June 30, 2025. Reports from France and Germany confirm that Dier is set to join Monaco on a deal running through to the summer of 2027.
Dier’s time at Bayern began in January 2024, initially on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. His performances led to a permanent transfer in July 2024, with a contract lasting until June 2025. Although he was a regular starter under then-coach Thomas Tuchel, Dier’s role diminished under current coach Vincent Kompany.
Despite limited appearances, he remained a reliable option, especially during injury spells affecting key defenders like Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano.
At 31, Dier brings a wealth of experience to Monaco, having earned 49 caps for England and made over 360 appearances for Tottenham.
His versatility in defense and midfield is expected to be a valuable asset for Monaco as they aim to strengthen their squad for upcoming domestic and European competitions
