Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Team Depart to Morocco
The Ghana Wheelchair Tennis team is to participate in the 2025 ITF World Team Cup Africa Qualifiers in Rabat, Morocco, from 18th to 23rd February 2025 as part of the qualification process for the Paralympic Games.
The PNB Paribas World Team Cup is one of the International Tennis Federation Wheelchair Tennis Flagship tournaments, which is analogous to the ITF Davies Cup for Able Tennis. This event is a national team-based competition, and as such, participants represent their country at this flagship ITF Wheelchair Tennis Department event.
Ghana Tennis Federation, being a national association affiliated with the ITF, is duly represented in the 2025 ITF PNB Paribas World Team Cup Africa Qualification event that is scheduled from 18th to 22nd February 2025.
Due to financial constraints, the Ghana Tennis Federation Wheelchair Tennis Committee was able to present a menβs team made up of Bernard Yawson and Daniel Laryea. The team is led by Kwabena Afriyie-Siaw, an official representing the National Coordination of Ghana Wheelchair Tennis.
The team left Kotoka International Airport, Accra, with Royal Air Maroc on Sunday, 16th February 2025, and had its first training session at the Club Wifaq Tennis Rabat in Morocco.
The progress of the team will be communicated as and when we get it.
