Ghanaian Athletes Impress at The Gabriel Tiacoh Continental Tour in Abidjan
Ghana’s athletics team delivered a commendable performance at the 2025 Gabriel Tiacoh Africa Continental Tour Meeting, held on Saturday, 5th July, 2025, at the prestigious Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
In the men’s 100 metres, Sarfo Ansah demonstrated resilience and competitive spirit, finishing 4th with a time of 10.72 seconds in a tightly contested sprint.
Ghana’s medal charge was led by Edwin Kwabla Gadayi, who secured a silver medal in the men’s 200 metres. Gadayi clocked an impressive 20.91 seconds, showcasing explosive pace and controlled power as he surged down the straight.
Another silver came in the men’s 400 metres, where Solomon Diafo ran a strong race, stopping the clock at 46.95 seconds. His performance reflected both strength and tactical discipline over the one-lap distance.
In the men’s high jump, Ghana dominated the event with a spectacular 1-2 finish. Ebenezer Gyimah soared to gold with a winning clearance of 2.15 metres, while Ennin Francis followed closely behind, securing silver with a jump of 2.00 metres.
Team Ghana’s showing in Abidjan highlighted the nation’s growing prowess in track and field, and the athletes’ performances are a promising sign ahead of future international competitions.
