GMTF Certifies 2025 Osimpam Half Marathon Route

The Ghana Mountain and Trail Federation (GMTF) has successfully measured and certified the route for the upcoming 2025 Osimpam Half Marathon, ensuring it meets international standards for accuracy and safety. The event, scheduled for Saturday, 26th April 2025, will take place in Winneba, Central Region, attracting runners from across Ghana and beyond.
Route Measurement and Certification
The certification process was carried out on Friday, 11th April 2025, by a team of experts, including Mr Clement Smith Danyagri, Vice President of the GMTF, and Mr Asidor Asiedu, a Ghana Athletics official. Using precise measurement techniques, the team confirmed the 21.1km half-marathon distance, ensuring fairness for all competitors.
Race Route Details
The race will begin at Gomao Nyarkuadze, taking runners through a scenic and challenging course:
Start Point: Gomao Nyarkuadze
Route: Proceeds along the Winneba-Swedru Highway, passing the famous Winneba Roundabout
Midpoint: Runners will head towards the University of Education, Winneba (UEW)
Final Stretch: The course continues to the beach road, offering a refreshing coastal view before finishing at the Winneba Main Station (Durba Ground)
This well-planned route combines urban and coastal landscapes, providing a competitive and enjoyable experience for participants.
Registration for the Osimpam Half Marathon 2025 is free and currently ongoing. Organisers are encouraging both elite and amateur runners to sign up early.
