Ishmael Arthur Eyes Victory at 7th Kwahu Mountain Marathon
Former Ghana half marathon record holder Ishmael Arthur has officially confirmed his participation in the 7th edition of the Kwahu Mountain Marathon, adding excitement and anticipation to this year’s event.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, the race is expected to attract elite athletes and running enthusiasts from across the country and beyond. Known for its challenging terrain and scenic mountain views, the Kwahu Mountain Marathon has grown into one of Ghana’s most thrilling road races.

This year’s edition will feature two events. The main race, a 21-kilometer half marathon, will begin from Nkawkaw, pass through the principal streets of Mpreaso, and finish at the Kwahu Traditional Council. In addition, a 4-kilometer fun race has been introduced to encourage wider participation. This shorter race will start from the Rock City Hotel and also end at the Kwahu Traditional Council.
Arthur, who once held the national half marathon record, expressed confidence ahead of the competition. “Training is going on well, and I’m looking forward to winning this year’s event,” he stated, signaling his determination to make a strong comeback.
His confirmation is a major boost for the event, as fans look forward to seeing one of Ghana’s experienced distance runners compete on the demanding Kwahu terrain. With the countdown underway, all eyes will be on Kwahu as athletes prepare to battle for glory in what promises to be an exciting and competitive race day.
