Kwahu Mountain Marathon To Pay First 30 Athletes – Dr Edward Boahen
Accra, Ghana – Excitement is building ahead of the 7th edition of the Kwahu Mountain Marathon, one of Ghana’s most anticipated road races, as new details promise a bigger and more rewarding experience for participants.
In an exclusive interview with Richportal TV, Race Director Dr. Edward Boahen revealed that this year’s event will not only test endurance but also reward performance on a larger scale. According to him, the first 30 athletes to finish the half marathon will receive cash prizes, a significant boost aimed at motivating both elite and amateur runners to compete at their highest level.
Beyond the financial rewards, recognition has also been expanded. The top 50 finishers in the half marathon category will be awarded medals, ensuring that more athletes are celebrated for their efforts and achievements. Meanwhile, participants in the 4km race are not left out, as the top 10 finishers in that category will also receive medals and a lot of hampers from Cowbell and Twisco.
To make the experience even more memorable, all participants—regardless of their finishing position—will be presented with an electronic certificate, a modern keepsake to commemorate their participation in the race.
But the Kwahu Mountain Marathon is more than just a race. This year’s edition will feature a variety of side attractions designed to entertain spectators and participants alike. Among the highlights is a cooking competition, which is expected to showcase local culinary talents and add a vibrant cultural touch to the event. Organizers have also hinted at several other engaging activities, making it a full festival experience rather than just a sporting event.
With such exciting packages lined up, anticipation continues to grow as runners and fans prepare to converge on Kwahu for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of fitness, culture, and community.
