On behalf of the leadership teams at Liverpool Football Club and Fenway Sports Group, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our number 20, Diogo Jota, and his brother, Andre Silva.
This tragic loss has left us in shock and sorrow, and we can’t fully comprehend the pain Diogo and Andre’s family must be enduring at this time. Our thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support are with them all.
On the field, we all witnessed Diogo’s incredible talent and the pivotal role he played in our successes since joining the club in 2020. He quickly became a fan favorite, and his song echoed not only around Anfield but in stadiums worldwide.
So many special moments, so many unforgettable memories.
But beyond the player, Diogo was a kind and humble soul—sincere, intelligent, funny, and strong, creating bonds wherever he went. His zest for life was infectious. He was a loving father, son, husband, and brother, and his loss will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Diogo and Andre. You will never walk alone.
