Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged his players and supporters to approach Chad with maximum seriousness ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.
Speaking to the media, Addo emphasized that no opponent in international football should be taken for granted, insisting that Ghana must prepare with the same intensity as they would against any of Africa’s traditional heavyweights.
“Every team at this level is capable of causing an upset if given the chance. It would be a big mistake to underestimate Chad. We need to stay focused, respect them, and give our best performance,” the coach stated.
The Black Stars face Chad in Matchday 7 of the qualifiers on September 4, 2025, before returning home to play Mali four days later. Ghana currently sits in a tight qualifying group, where every point is crucial in the race for a spot at the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Addo also highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork, and mental toughness, noting that the team must remain consistent to secure qualification. “Our target is to win every game, and that requires maximum commitment from everyone,” he added.
