Pho3nix Kids Fun Run Heads to Nandom

Preparations are well underway for the much-anticipated Pho3nix Kids Fun Run: Nandom edition, as Race Director Mercy-Jane Pappoe confirms that the nationwide initiative is set to make its debut in Ghana’s Upper West Region on August 23, 2025.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Mercy-Jane shared her excitement and the groundwork being laid to ensure the event’s success.
“Yes, preparations for the Pho3nix Kids Fun Run, Nandom edition, are in full swing. We are excited to bring the energy of this nationwide initiative to Nandom for the very first time,” she stated.
Mobilising the Nandom Spirit
The Pho3nix team will arrive in Nandom days ahead of the event to coordinate final logistics. Collaboration with local schools, authorities, and volunteers is already ongoing, aiming to guarantee a smooth registration process and an unforgettable race day experience for the kids.
The event is expected to draw over 500 children aged 6 to 16, with race distances ranging from 1km to 7km according to age categories. But the goal goes beyond just racing.
“We want to inspire kids with the values of discipline, fun, fitness, and goal-setting,” Mercy-Jane emphasised. “Given the community spirit we’ve already felt from Nandom, we’re optimistic this will be one of our most meaningful editions yet.”
Lessons from Cape Coast & Ho Editions
The upcoming Nandom race follows two successful editions earlier this year:
Cape Coast – February 2025
Hundreds of children from various schools participated, with excellent community and volunteer support. The race enjoyed ideal weather conditions and strong local engagement.
Ho – June 2025
Despite challenges caused by rain during setup, the event saw a vibrant turnout and solid backing from the municipal authorities and local sports directors. The enthusiastic crowd brought a lively energy to the day.
These previous editions have laid a strong foundation, reinforcing the Pho3nix Kids Fun Run as a beacon for youth development, community building, and regional inclusion.
