President John Dramani Mahama to Fire Starting Gun at 2025 Absa Black Star Marathon
Accra, Ghana – Preparations are in full swing for the 2025 Absa Black Star Marathon, Ghana’s premier international marathon event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 26th July 2025, at the historic Independence Square in Accra. The race will officially begin at 6:00 AM, with His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana, serving as the Special Guest of Honour to fire the starting gun.
The President’s participation marks a significant moment for the marathon and for the sporting community in Ghana. His presence underscores the importance of sports in national development, health promotion, and youth engagement, while adding a touch of honour and inspiration to the event.
