Uefa punished Real Madrid after some of its supporters yelled homophobic epithets at Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City.
The European Football Federation has fined the Spanish team to pay 30,000 euros (£24,800).
Additionally, Real Madrid has been awarded a suspended partial stadium closure, meaning that at least 500 nearby seats must be closed during their upcoming European encounter at the Bernabeu.
But for two years, the partial closure has been put on hold.
The chanting took place earlier this month at the Bernabeu during Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Guardiola’s City in the second leg of their Champions League play-off.
With a 6-3 aggregate victory, Carlo Ancelotti’s team advanced to the round of 16, where they will now take on Atletico Madrid.
