Roma seal move for Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson

The Serie A team Roma has officially finalized a transfer for Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson, who appeared to be close to signing Saba Goglichidze yesterday evening.
Corriere dello Sport report that a move for the Danish defender was sealed in the lead up to the game against Napoli yesterday. The centre-back will arrive in Rome today to undergo a medical and sign a contract with Claudio Ranieri’s side.
He will sign an initial loan agreement with Roma, with the option to purchase if certain requirements are fulfilled this season. Angelino made an impression during his loan period before permanently joining Roma, and this transaction is remarkably similar to the one that brought him there last summer.
It seems that Roma did not initially select Goglichidze. After an agreement was reached, the player’s agency told Roma that the defender would remain at Empoli through the end of the current campaign. As a result, Nelsson became a new signing and the Roman giants were forced to take swift action.
According to Marco Conterio of Tuttomercatoweb, Nelsson is Roma’s current priority which explains their decision to halt talks with Empoli for Goglichidze.
Conterio reports that talks between Roma and Galatasaray are well underway for the transfer of the 26-year-old centreback.
The Giallorossi are making rapid progress in their talks with the possibility of signing Nelsson on loan with a buy option.
