Sydney is gearing up for a sporting spectacle as the 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon takes place this Sunday, 31 August, marking its official debut as part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. With the iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House as the backdrop, more than 300,000 spectators are expected to line the streets for what promises to be an unforgettable race day.
Star-Studded Men’s Field
The men’s race will showcase true marathon royalty. Eliud Kipchoge (KEN), two-time Olympic champion and world record holder (2:01:09), headlines the field as he chases victory on a new continent. He will face Ethiopia’s Birhanu Legese (2:02:48), Kenya’s rising star Vincent Ngetich (2:03:13), and Ethiopia’s Dawit Wolde (2:03:48).
Australia will also be strongly represented: Brett Robinson, national record holder (2:07:31), and Olympian Liam Adams (2:08:39) will look to make the home crowd proud on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
