Accra – Ghana: The Upper-West Region of Ghana is abuzz with excitement as the second edition of the highly anticipated 2024 Tizza Football Gala approaches. The biggest sporting championship is scheduled to take place from December 26-28, 2024, at the Tizza JHS Football Park in the Jirapa Municipality. This three-day event promises to be an unforgettable experience for football enthusiasts and spectators alike in the community and its environs.
Promoting Peace and Stability through Football
The Tizza Football Gala is more than just a sporting event; it’s a platform to promote peace and stability among communities within the Tizza township and its environs. This noble initiative has garnered the support of esteemed dignitaries, including the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, and the Chief of Tizza, His Royal Highness, Nnaa Bawayele Nayele Dakurah lll.
Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah was a former athlete, and he has promised to support the competition and make it an annual program for the people of Tizza. This will help the youths in this area to showcase their talents and skills to the rest of the world and also to project the image of Tizza township.
A Showcase of Talent and Skill
The event provides a unique opportunity for the youths in the area to showcase their talents and skills to a wider audience. With the promise of an improved second edition, the organizer, James Thompson Anlaaminge, aka Bakayano, has left no stone unturned to ensure the success of the tournament.
Participating Teams and Support
A total of 12 teams from the communities are expected to participate in the second edition of the 2024 Tizza Football Gala. The event has also received the backing of Hon. Cornelius Nobapuo, the Assembly Member for Tizza Central, who has pledged to provide the necessary support to make the program a resounding success.
