UrbanBetter Accra was Present at the National Dialogue on Clean Air and Elections 2024

Accra – Ghana: JoyNews hosted a National Dialogue on Clean Air and Elections at the Ghana Institution of Engineering, Roman Ridge, in Accra on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

The event brought together representatives from various political parties to discuss their plans for addressing air pollution. Environmentalists, Urban Better Cityzens Accra, and communications students from UPSA attended the event.

Richard Sekyere, an UrbanBetter Cityzens Accra Run Leader, raised crucial questions about urban development and the inclusion of pedestrian-friendly infrastructure like the pedestrian walkway, bicycle path, and exercise park, among others.

The Clean Air Book was duly launched

UrbanBetter is an Africa-led global movement to build healthy, climate-resilient urban spaces.

Clean Air Is A Basic Human Right! In July 2022, the United Nations (UN) welcomed the recognition by the General Assembly that a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment is a human right.

The dialogue was a success, with all political parties highlighting their manifestos on clean air policies. Notable guests included the Acting Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, John Kingsley Krugu, and the Deputy Head of Mission at the Denmark Embassy in Ghana, Vibeke Sandholm Pedersen.
