GHANA- ACCRA, June 25, 2025 – The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) today unveiled its slate of Chefs de Mission (CDMs) who will spearhead the nation’s participation in five major international multi-sport events over the next 18 months. The appointments signal Ghana’s strategic preparations for global competitions, from continental youth tournaments to the pinnacle of winter and summer sports.

 

The CDMs will serve as the operational and cultural leaders of Team Ghana, tasked with ensuring athlete welfare, coordinating logistics, promoting Olympic values, and showcasing Ghanaian heritage on the world stage.

 

The full list of appointments between 2025 and 2026.
1. Mr. Michael Ntow Ayeh leads Ghana’s debut at the Africa School Games (Algeria, July 26–August 5, 2025), a platform for emerging scholastic talent.
2. Mr. Bawah Fuseini takes charge for the Africa Youth Games (Angola, December 2025), focusing on nurturing future elite athletes.
3. Mr. Mohammed Mahadi heads Ghana’s delegation to the Winter Olympic Games (Italy, February 6–22, 2026), a rare appearance for the tropical nation.
4. Mr. Ernest Danso guides Team Ghana at the Commonwealth Games (Scotland, July 23–August 2, 2026), where Ghana traditionally targets medal success.
5. Mr. Evans Kojo Yeboah commands the Youth Olympic Games (Senegal, October 30–November 13, 2026), a critical development opportunity for West Africa’s next generation.

 

Strategic Significance:
The selections underscore Ghana’s commitment to structured representation across all levels of international sport. The Youth Olympic Games role is particularly notable, coinciding with Senegal’s historic hosting—the first Olympics on African soil—offering Ghanaian youth unprecedented access to elite competition.
