The event route passed through key parts of the city, giving runners a scenic experience of Accra’s vibrant streets. Supporters lined the roads, clapping, waving flags, and cheering participants on with words of encouragement and motivation. For many, it was not just about competition but about celebrating community, perseverance, and the joy of healthy living.

Organized by First National Bank, the marathon has become one of Ghana’s most anticipated sporting events, promoting fitness, teamwork, and social connection. Bank officials expressed their satisfaction with the massive turnout and seamless coordination, reaffirming their commitment to encouraging active lifestyles and community spirit through sports.

As the runners crossed the finish line at the Dansoman Keep Fit Club, the air was filled with applause, laughter, and a deep sense of accomplishment. The 2025 First National Bank Accra Marathon will be remembered as a day of fun, excitement, and national unity—a shining example of Ghana’s enduring spirit and passion for fitness.

In an interview with some of the athletes, this was what they said:

Ishmael Arthur: “The main challenge with athletics in Ghana is the race route. Some sections don’t have clear checkpoints, so at times we lose our way and have to find our path back to the course.”

Prony from Norway: “The air quality was quite poor. Vehicle fumes, smoke from burning rubbish, and choked gutters made breathing difficult—at one point, I almost felt like I was suffocating.”

Florence Wachira: “I came fully prepared and promised myself I would win—and I did. The energy and cheers from the fans kept me going and made me forget about being tired.”

The First National Bank Accra Marathon 2025 concluded on a rewarding note, with several participants honored for their outstanding performances. Attractive cash prizes and gifts from sponsors were presented to the top finishers, with the first, second, and third-place winners in each category receiving special recognition for their remarkable achievements.

In addition to the main winners, runners who placed from 4th to 50th position were also rewarded with cash prizes as an appreciation for their effort and commitment in completing the race. Organizers explained that this initiative was introduced to encourage wider participation and to celebrate every athlete who took part, regardless of their finishing position.
