KGL Millennium Marathon Organisers Host Ghana Mountain and Trail Federation for Briefing on 10th Edition
The organisers of the KGL Millennium Marathon hosted the Ghana Mountain and Trail Federation (GMTF) today at their offices to provide an update on preparations for hosting a World Athletics Bronze Label event in Ghana.
Catherine Morton, speaking on behalf of the organising team, highlighted the significant improvements and enhanced preparations being made ahead of the 10th edition of Ghana’s premier international half marathon, currently the only World Athletics Label road race in the country.
“We are well ahead in our planning, and this year we will introduce timing chips for all participating athletes. The roads will also be fully closed to vehicular traffic in compliance with World Athletics regulations,” she stated.
W01 Moro Salifu, General Secretary of the GMTF, expressed appreciation for the continuous collaboration: “We are very happy that the organisers always seek our input for this prestigious event. We remain committed to offering the best ideas and support. It is especially exciting that World Athletics has officially sanctioned the race, a great platform for Ghanaian athletes to showcase their talent.”
The meeting also covered discussions around the deployment and training of volunteers to ensure efficient operations on race day.
Mr. Agyeman Prempeh noted that further stakeholder engagements would take place as the event approaches, scheduled for 6th September 2025.
