NSA Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee Inaugurated to Drive Investment in Ghana Sports
The Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee of the National Sports Authority (NSA) has been officially inaugurated and tasked to begin work immediately to help mobilise resources, strengthen partnerships and attract investment into Ghana’s sports sector.
The five-member committee, made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds, is expected to support the NSA in developing strategic partnerships that can contribute to the growth and long-term sustainability of sports in the country.
The inauguration was held on Friday, 14 August 2026, at the ESP Hotel, Labone, Accra, under the theme “Supporting the Reset Ghana Sports Agenda.”
Speaking to the media and the general public after the inauguration, the Chairman of the Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee, Sampson Deen, called on Ghanaians to play an active role in identifying and supporting sporting talents within their communities.
According to him, talent exists across the country, but there is a need for individuals, organisations and communities to pay greater attention to young people with sporting potential and help connect them to the right opportunities.
Deen also appealed to Ghanaians to put aside political differences when it comes to the development of sports.
He stressed that sports should serve as a unifying force, arguing that regardless of political affiliation, Ghanaians share one common sporting language under the leadership and mandate of the National Sports Authority.
“We all have one sports language that we speak, and that is governed by the National Sports Authority.”
He urged stakeholders to commit themselves fully to the initiative and work collectively to ensure that the committee achieves its objectives.
Politics Should Not Divide Sports Development
Drawing from his own experience, Sampson Deen emphasised the importance of working together despite political differences.
He recalled his period of working with Alhaji Grussa, explaining that although he was associated with the NPP while many of the people around Alhaji Grussa were affiliated with the NDC, their political differences did not prevent them from working effectively together.
According to Deen, they were able to put their differences aside, concentrate on their responsibilities and execute their respective duties diligently.
He used the experience as an example of how Ghanaians can work together for a common purpose despite belonging to different political traditions.
For him, the development of Ghanaian sports must remain bigger than political affiliations.
Committee Begins Work Immediately
The newly inaugurated five-member committee is expected to begin work immediately, with a focus on mobilising resources and developing partnerships capable of supporting the country’s sports ecosystem.
The initiative is also expected to bring together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors while exploring opportunities for investment, sponsorship and strategic collaboration.
The NSA has indicated that the Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee forms part of efforts to strengthen partnerships, investment and sustainability within Ghanaian sports.
With the committee now officially in place, expectations will be high for the members to translate their mandate into tangible results and help create a stronger financial and partnership structure for sports development.
Sampson Deen’s call for Ghanaians to identify talents in their local communities and put aside political differences also sets the tone for what the committee hopes to achieve: a united sporting community working together to discover talent, mobilise resources and build a sustainable future for Ghanaian sports.
